In 2020, Steve Horton, an 11th-generation gunmaker, began searching for a solution to the challenges posed by the impending ban on lead ammunition. After 18 months of collaboration with metallurgist Andrew Robb, who has over 50 years of experience, Hortonium was developed. In May 2022, we filed our first patents for Hortonium 1, 2 & 3. By November 2023, we entered into a Joint Venture agreement with our manufacturing partner, Interpower Induction, which operates facilities in Michigan (USA), UK, and India. Our current focus is on Hortonium 1, a highly effective and innovative alternative to lead shot, solid small-caliber bullets, and the lead core used in jacketed bullets. Designed to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly ammunition materials, Hortonium 1 offers superior performance without the environmental impact of traditional lead. Looking ahead, we plan to further develop Hortonium 2 and 3 in late 2024, offering advanced solutions that will surpass copper-jacketed munitions and cater to other specialized applications.
While we don’t manufacture ammunition ourselves, we provide ammunition manufacturers with Hortonium in the exact volume and format they need, sourced from our production facilities in both the UK and the US.
